Blackbird

Blackbird nestling attempting to fly on May 5th, 2009. His three siblings already left the birch tree nest! Later in the film you see "Daddy" Blackbird - handheld camera, zoom, very few cuts - no screenplay, pure nature - though I must say, the little fellow develops his character in an almost professional way - no flat characters at all. Birdspeech and movement develops very sudden in unexpected ways so this 7:24 minute short film has a somewhat storyline, setting as the nestling moves between three locations, the character develops, suspense, a somewhat turning point/climax and an open end. Enjoy this natural garden take!
