Malware: antivirus programs do NOT remove these simply because they are NOT viruses, they are rogue applications containing malware which also redirect browsers - http://freepcsecurity.co.uk/2009/12/18/malware-removal/ - - Prevention - http://freepcsecurity.co.uk/2009/12/16/malware/

  • It won't allow me to reset the keyword.URL.

  • @Wolliom - Download TDSSKiller, RKill and malwarebytes. Run RKill first, then TDSSKiller, reboot if any found then update and Quick Scan with malwarebytes :-)

  • Does Norton 360 remove this thing?

  • @ ice500 - Malwarebytes Antimalware free version will remove it far better than Norton. Download, install, update, perform Quick Scan, remove all infections found and reboot :-)

  • @ice500 - You're welcome. Different programs work in different ways and frequently the simple and free ones work better :-)

  • @Cotojo1253, I just want to let you know I did everything you said. Some things were different on my Vista than what you had on yours but it worked! My computer is running faster and I did test search on my browser a few times and have not seen an occurrence so far! Thanks for the help!

  • "Let's take a look maaaaaallware just for a change shall we?" haha

  • @KillTheFiasco and it won't let me install spybot neither /=

  • this guy sounds like evil o.O dont trust him

  • the last part with internet explore and firefox what do i do with google chrome bc when i try to go to places it sends me to differnt things and when its loading it says redirecting to.... please help.

  • I'm running Windows XP and only use Firefox as a browser. Thanks so much for the help as I had used Super Antispyware, Spybot, AVG Antivirus, AVG AntiRootkit, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, Malwarebytes AntiMalware, CCleaner, CWShredder and still no luck. TDSS found the culprit straight away but I still can't seem to reset the "keyword.url" as the word is not highlighted. Any tips on this?

I'll see how I go over the next few days to see if any random redirects or pop-up sites occur.

    Cheers.
