Got this on vinyl

It was not until now did I realize Levis Stubbs had a little Otis Redding in his voice.

The Favoured Uncle of Soul!
-
Interesting way they staged it--the instrumental tracks by the Funk Brothers were taped, but the vocals were clearly live and great (and subtly different from the record). Never heard the Four Tops live--but they were clearly a great live performance group.

I actually prefer this vocal to the released version. Great video

I'm so glad he stayed with them...and they with him even after he became ill...Just as close as brothers, or closer if that is possible...An example to many other groups that stay loyal only a fraction of the time...Great group even from hearing their earlier pre-Motown recordings...They knew how to make themselves sound great...YOU JUST HAVE TO LOVE THEM!!!
-
I know he loves me too. We are just 40 years too late.
-
When I was a kid I'd hear my Dad say "they just dont write and sing good songs like that anymore " (refering to Sinatra)now I as I listen to my dear old 4 Tops I just say the same thing...They just dont write and sing songs like that anymore
you think anybody will be saying that 20 years from now about Lady Gaga or JZ?
or any of this other shlock? Not Likely Duh!!!
-
My favorite group EVER. Just love Levi's voice.

Too bad the Funk Brothers could not make the trip.
levi stubs 100% class could have went solo any time and would have made it but he stayed loyal
