Since we won TMDC8 and the organiser felt that the TMDC competition was not getting enough attention, they asked us to make the invitation for the 9th competition.

The team is setup like this: LPChip: Music and LifePower: GFX and code.

If you want to see the real thing in action ( real ASCII rendering, grab the demo here: http://files.lpchip.com/tmdc/tmdc9inv.zip )

  • aaah, the memories, i remember when my friends were always showing off demos on theire amiga 500, with .MOD songs. i used to love those.

how programmers would show off real-time calculations of balls falling and stuff like that.

    great times!

Great vid and awesome music, really brings me back :)

  • Although its a bit late... Thanks! :D

  • here the quality is poor too /

  • Weird, now on high quality it is better... Youtube is playing around with the quality settings it seems. But please note, that in the more info on the right, you can download the demo and play it on your pc. The quality won't get better than that. :D

  • I got all the TMDC Compo on my computer. I really enjoy play it with the original file. Your job is great. I've posted a video with "Inner" text mode demo to test a video capture soft. But the result was not very good...

  • I can capture it very good, but in order to do that, there needs to be made a few changes.

For isntance, you cannot capture in full screen, so you need to make sure that the windowed version performs very well. In order to archieve that, you need to change the font of the display. Thats the hard part actually. But that way, you'll get better ASCII chars and it looks better. Then, make sure you capture it as best as you can. (you may need a powerfull pc for that)

  • Hmm, this is weird. Somehow the video is actually worse on high quality than on normally. Atleast audio wise.
