Here is my aquarium setup. It consists of one male blue Siamese fighting fish named Andrew, 8 Neon Tetras and one Albino Corydoras Catfish named Rolando. The catfish mainly dwells on the bottom of the aquarium and eats leftover food and possibly poop from the other fishes. It does its part to help keep the aquarium clean!

My fighting fish gets along very well with the Neon Tetras but does occassionally show some agression towards the Albino Catfish. It only does it when the catfish gets in its way. It will fare up its gills and fins and the catfish swims away. Besides that, they all get along just fine.

  • 1: the current in the water is way too strong, the Betta has the swim all the time and therefore it is getting stressed.

    2. There are no plants in the aquarium therefore the CO2 level is probably way too high and i wont take long until all the fish are dead.

    3. when there is no plants there are no natural hidding places for the Betta and therefore it gets stressed aswell.

    4. the tetras does not match with the Betta in an aquarim, the tetras will often bite the Betta and the Betta can die.

  • Thanks for your comment Martin. I went ahead and moved out the Betta awhile ago. Its in a bigger tank now. Yeah I realized the tank was too small for him.

  • There is a glowlight tetra in there and leons. get some more glowlights it will be lonely

  • I was wondering what kind of tetra that was. It was kept in the same tank as the neon tetras were at the pet shop. I noticed it looked different and didn't hang out with the rest of the neons. I'll get some more to keep him company. Plus I moved all these fishes to a bigger tank.
