@sougias78 No, you missed it. The last sentence makes it clear. "Life is just a state of mind" Chance spent his whole life in doors, clueless about the world...the whole film is about that...he doesn't see the world the way we see it..for him water is just another surface..solid, like the ground is solid..thus he walks on it...you see how he is eximining the depth..he is curious..he has no previous knowledge telling him he can't walk on water so theres nothing preventing him from doing just that

Innocence, faith and humility are ultimately more consequential than cunning and pride. Matthew 18:2-3; Luke 17:5-6.
What... is your 'state of mind'?

@aarondavidreynolds1 I feel sad for you that the poetry of this film clearly escapes you. A true great film with all around great performances. Go back to your video games.

@VideoByPatrick apparently the eye of the pyramid is crying

Walking on water reflects the spirit still alive after death.

A very close imitation of Satie's sixth Gymnopedie.

Peter Sellers was a versatile genius - there will never be another one like him. He should have received an Oscar for this role!

@ktakn This scene is an allegory of Jesus' act of walking on water. as jesus was the savior at his time so is sellers for the modern americans (at an earlier scene the elite wants to make him president of the states)
