I was 17 in this video, it was a while ago. I have no clue why it got 50k+ views, but yeah. It makes me miss playing classical piano, I'll take it up again some day but I can't really have a piano around anymore. One thing I was unhappy about this recording was that a compressor was used in recording, which kind of killed the dynamics.
incredible

I do not care if it was too fast or unpoetrical, this guy good smooth MOVES with his hands, turning them and stuff, this dude will reach far.

We are looking at a child here of course. But starting with slow practice is still essential in bringing out details in the music vital for the training of even gifted musicians.

Of course. Pianists like Pollini can play with speed but with poetry as well. The poetry here is lacking, and it is atrributed to both the breakneck speed and his lack of maturity. Meaningful music is engendered only if the composer's markings are followed. For pianists of lesser calibre, these markings are glossed over with speed.

speed does not represent a lack of poetry. Just because something is played faster does not mean it loses any sense of its meaning.

This must be the fastest playing of the work I've heard and it comes from a child. The technical feat is alarming but the lack of poetry is also quite sadly but understandbly missing.

I don't like at all his pedal use in some parts.
It sounds so choppy...
