I can see the 315 tugging and drifting those cars along west of Antonito, no problem, but with the same consist, I'd like to see her work eastbound and try to schlepp that stuff up the 4% alone to Cumbres Pass, bet she couldn't quite pull it off! I think historically the C-16 class and the like had to mostly work in pairs and even threes out of Chama, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Great vid - any truth to what i was told years ago that this stretch of railroad was where John Ford filmed the opening and closing shots of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance? I was told that the black & white photography made the scenery look like a different part of the country.
She did. But before the hooter she had a Star brass 5-chime duplicate, now I believe she is wearing a Rio Grande 5-chime which is the same as the one on the 478.

Awsome Video. D&RGW #315 is my most favorite engine in the World. =D

yeah she did at one time and during the Durango Silverton Railfest she had one on her. A DRGW single chime from RGS 340 at Knotts Berry Farm

Wonderful... Did 315 once have a hooter whistle instead of the multichime one here?
