Volare

Perhaps the biggest international hit from Italy, 1958, sung by many (recorded by 92 artists according to Wiki), here by the original artist, singer and composer Domenico Modugno.
The original song's name "Nel blu dipinto di blu" ("In the blue painted blue"), is explained in the lyrics by the loved one's blue eyes that make our hero dream of flying ("volare") into the blue skies, over the sun and beyond ("ed ancora più su"), into outer space, why not?, there's blue in outer space too (even "God's Eye" is blue)!

i love this song so much it makes me cry because last year in february 2008 my nonna passed away and she sang this song all the time and the last time or second to last time i saw her she sang this we talked to our 2nd cousins who live near by that she should be getting a letter from the president soon and a week later she passed away and she was 108 so thats even more special at my talent show these twins danced to this song and i cryed at the reharsal and the real show. So sad ;-( i miss her.
