the best illustration i have heard was from a kentucky preacher:
when you breath, you are doing the breathing; it is your breath. Did not God give you everything necessary to breath-including the breath itself?
when you believe, you are doing the believing; it is your faith. Did not God give you everything necessary to believing-including the faith itself?
Is there any good thing you have that didn't come from the Father of lights (James 1:17)?

@SBGGCA how does one know they have found grace? the Holy Spirit in regeneration, demonstrates, or should i say, are sealed by faith-the evidence and proof of grace in that soul.
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Pet 1:5(3-9)
Lamentations 3 takes on a whole new meaning when we realize that through the manifold temptations it is God's faithfulness (Lam 3:1-27) that is keeping us unto that perfect day (Pro 4:18).

@SBGGCA you know 2 Peter 1:1ff "..obtained like precious faith..." also supports this understanding. the word obtained is the same word used in two other instances in the NT. when the soldiers cast lots for the Lord's clothes and when the disciples cast lots to find a replacement for Judas. which not only speaks of it being a gift, but also of the election of that grace.

This a great video, thank you pastor. I showed this to one of my family member's that is having a little trouble believing in this Biblical doctrine. I think this has helped her out immensely!
