State Park Speedway is a work in progress and yeah, there is alot to be done yet. There are concessions but they are in the building behind the stands to the east..... The location of those kind of sucks... Attendance is way down, hopefully it will turn around! I was there last week! You probably walked right past me!

I went up to another driver to congratulate him for beating the Reffner kid at Golden Sands Speedway a few weeks ago in a 4 cylinder race. He was very cool. It looks like he will be offered a ride in a dirt late model at Shawano next year. Talk about a huge change!

I have been track chasing last year and this year. I try to hit all tracks within a 2 hour drive of my home near Chilton. I made it to 19 tracks so far this year. I went to Golden Sands last weekend, and it took 1hr 45 min. I noticed recently that my digital camera can record videos, so I made a few.

Awesome!! I work on super late models at Goldensands on Friday nights and I race Thursday nights in Wausau. State Park has schedule on line, stateparkspeedway (dot) com. THe wall there is brutal, but I think the vids make it look worse than it is. Marshfield is abotu 45 minutes from Sands, Wausau is about 50 minutes from Sands as well. Hope to see you at the tracks!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! I have time. I'm looking for a job right now since I graduated from college in May. I'll have to go there one of the next few Thursdays! I thought that the track was closed.

Common misconception as the track was promoted as closing but infact it was sold. Alot of people dont know it is around. I was there last night and turn out was poor. Please visit!!! we would love to see you there and bring friends and family!!!!!

That track looked a little bit like Madison International Speedway outside Oregon and Stoughton Wisconsin. Or maybe this track uses the same scoring board?

I went on the track for a car show before the races. I took a picture of each car. I talked with 2 drivers. One raced a super late model that looked like the one in your video. He said that you bought his car from last year and didn't repaint it. He was fascinated that I went to 23 tracks so far this year.

The wall in the front stretch is high enough that I never feared my safety at all. I did notice that kids were easily able to move the fence a lot. Something to do for the new owners. The best fences are painted black, which makes it easier to see through.

I found the track to be in better condition than I expected, although it was the poorest conditions that I experienced in all 23 tracks that I have visited so far. I didn't see any concessions, which is big money that they need to start capturing, even with low fan attendance by stock car standards. All 3 karting events that I went to this year with only dozens of spectators have concessions.

I enjoy visiting Rib Mountain and Wausau, so I knew that I would enjoy at least something no matter what. Downtown Wausau has been improved significantly in the last few years! The view from Rib Mountain State Park is as AWESOME as always. I was on top of the tower just after 6:00 when they did some hot lapping, and you could easily tell which class was on the track! I hadn't been to the track at that time, but you could easily tell the type of car from the tower.

My internet was down for a week and I didn't see your reply until now. I went on Aug. 16th without reading your comment but following your earlier recommendation. I have a 2 hour limit, and it took 2 hrs and 9 minutes. Oh, well.
