I don’t think Catholics have the right to ALLOW or DENY access to birth control including abortion. That is a personal thing. This is about the government forcing Catholics to become complicit in controlling birth as well as aborting the unborn by paying for it or the insurance that pays for it. I fear this is the first step of government controlling religion including atheist. I hope democrats will not follow their earthly king in this matter.

I have heard of the survey results and not surprised Catholics support Obama, The basic every Sunday Catholic and once a year Catholics don't evaluate the repercussions and consequences of this mandate violating the 1st amendment. I am an active Catholic who rejects the mandate. Birth control is not the issue, the problem is how Obama is approaching the issue. He may be abusing his power too much.

Gov. Bob McDonnell just went from VP short list to shit list for his support of anti-choice, trans vaginal probe ultrasound legislation in Virginia. All it took was for the people to protest. @nathanrs10 I would also say that no one is forcing the Catholic faith on you, you are free to believe in what you want. As a Catholic, I encourage you to defend your own beliefs. However, you speak of logic and thinking but I believe the logical fallacies are in your argumentation and not mine. We aren't allowed to say 'this is wrong' because you think it's okay? Who is forcing their "religion" on who? I think that's the real question.

@nathanrs10 Unfortunately you are incorrect about parents who choose not to have children doing the same thing as parents who abort a child. A child that never existed is just that, someone who never existed. An aborted child did exist at one point in time and then was destroyed. That's why it is okay to chose not to have kids (via abstinence from sex) but not okay to abort a child that already exists and is physically growing.

People just believe in religion because they fear the unknown and they don't want to be responsible for their actions. Look at all the people being killed in the middle east because of their beliefs. Imagine how advanced we would be if people would start believing in logic instead of magic. Think for yourselves people!
