This is a review of the MEGADRIVE classic now available to download on Nintendo Wii via the Virtual Console

This is a review from the perspective of this being a VC game and not a review of the MEGADRIVE original.

  • Definitely the Megadrive version.

You can tell by the music and backgrounds.

  • The MEGA DRIVE that pops up at the start tipped me off mind XD

  • lol, he's runnin' around in his underpants!

You should talk about the music and graphics as compared to other games of the time.

  • Never had the game at the time though, and don't know what came out with it.

While I had played a few of the games I own, part of why I love the VC is because I own about 18 games that I never got to play because I was too young to be able to buy them.

I maybe only played about 10 different SNES games, 10 different MD and then about 50 AMIGA games.

Because that's the one we favoured at the time.

Still do love the AMIGA :D

  • good review, one of my faves for the MD. They could've made a much better job with the music obviously but it's an early game anyway.

  • Thanks :)

  • This game looks like so much damn fun, but I know in the end I will only be torturing myself with the insane difficulty. This makes Castlevania look like kid stuff.

  • SNES Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (aka ChoMakaimura) is a CONSOLE-ONLY sequel, was never in arcades. It's a sequel to Ghouls 'N ghosts (aka DaiMakaimura) for the arcades, on Sega Genesis, NEC SuperGrafx, Sharp X68000 computer. The Wii VC version is the Genesis version, a conversion of the arcade.

Here's the main games in the GnG series

    1. Ghosts 'N Goblins (Arcade, NES)

    2. Ghouls 'N Ghosts (Arcade, Genesis, SuperGrafx)

    3. Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (SNES, GBA)

    4. Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins (PSP)

  • lolz I wasntpaying attention then, obviously :p

  • The farthest I've gotten in this game is level 2
