I have a suggestion for you. I have a design that's very similar to this but with built-in irrigation.
Since it's like 110 in the shade during the summer here in Texas, I built a mist system for the front porch out of PVC, a bag of mist nozzles, and a hose connection from Lowe's. The whole thing cost like $25.
When I designed my greenhouse, I also used PVC and plastic sheeting. But, when I built the frame, I integrated the mist system so all I have to do is turn on the hose and PRESTO! };-)
Try some 2 liter soda bottles painted black and filled with water and line up across the back side .You may need to get them up off the ground to get them to warm up.
you said something about putting large rocks inside it to help heat it during the nite, paint them black or containers of sand or whatever paint them black. it'll absorb lots more heat during the day.
Good ideas...btw, My father would love you...he loves "PVC"...he built the front yard fence with PVC- lol
5*

nice. Here in Ecotopia, we do have to use a bit heavier grade PVC, due to rain weight!
