A couple of SD70Ms pull a stubby autorack train. I think I've seen the likes of this short autorack several times before. Possibly moving between Global 3 and West Chicago.

After catching the "Troy Grove Job," I needed a lunch recharge so set my sites on the Casey's General Store in Creston. Enroute, I saw the distant headlights of an eastbound coming from Creston. Although the afternoon lighting didn't favor eastbound trains anymore, I decided to set up for it anyway. My philosophy is that you can't throw away video that you don't shoot. It turned out OK.

  • i like the way you think. we have got to railfan in illnois together. i like it that you travel from place to place to film trains in diffrent places on the same day. and you know what to eat. and your cool.

  • I sometimes do put quite a few miles on the car in a day of chasing trains. Take it easy.

  • Thanks! Appreciate the info!

  • It is their intermodal facility in Rochelle, IL. Not sure when it was built. But I think less than 10 years ago.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Well done. A question? I have heard of this Global 3 mentioned by various posters here. Some have made it sound like something recently built by UP. Is it a new rail-yard for UP along their transcon for intermodal traffic?

  • Thanks much.
