Joseph Levy, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Pediatric Gastroenterology at NYU Langone Medical Center, comments on introduction of foods associated with allergies, notably complex proteins. Also, as a safety matter, Dr. Levy cautions parents against giving whole nuts to children younger than age 3. He spoke at a free symposium for parents of young children, "Navigating the First Years," sponsored by KiDS of NYU Foundation. KiDS is an organization of volunteers that supports children's health services at NYU Langone Medical Center (New York, NY) through philanthropy, community service and advocacy. www.kidsofnyu.org
