This tape had replaced Mes Pieds in December 1960 and remained in service until March 1962 when it was replaced by It's A Fine Day. Amongst the tracks which you can hear in this clip are; 1. Reins De Musette; 2. Perles de Cristal; 3. Les Triolets; 4. Garratin de Bele. Enjoy!!!!

  • @FaerieCrone You're not the only one who does that!

  • I put these testcards on when I'm doing my housework because I like the music.

  • @alain7517 ...et n'a rien à voir avec les reins non plus! ;)

  • The second title 'Perles de Cristal' omitted the introduction when broadcast with the test card, starting at 02:54.

  • not only wings but dreams of Paris lol

  • cool music,,, very nice,,, it gives you wings!

  • @redsnapper1959 Thanks for the confirmation. I also recall that the original six tapes did have bell-like chimes, but they were lower in pitch than the later, more familiar ones, and were played twice every time.

  • @JohnTheRails It was . . . it's the only tape that did have these weird hooter/organ signals! The next tape, Gay Paris By Night, in Feb 1961, saw the debut of the far more familiar BBC celeste signal which lasted until 1972.

  • I beg your pardon : Title is "Reine de musette".

Mais cette interprétation n'a pas grand chose à voir avec le musette.

  • I seem to remember the BBC chimes on this tape not being chimes at all, but played on a kind of hooter or organ sound with lots of echo.

... or perhaps my memory's playing tricks.
