  • I have never used spray foam so I am not sure. The good thing about the rigid foam is it cures hard with no flexibility. I use plaster of Paris for most of my molds but other plaster / concrete will work. Make sure that it is fully cured before you pour the cast. I also found that a thin piece of steel quarter rod added to the mold gives it a little weight and keeps the handle from snapping.

  • Do you sell these?!

  • They are using water-blown polyurethane foams to set utility poles!

  • i wana make pontoon floats from that type of foam..

    for kayak stabilization..

    how expensive is it ?

  • Great video. Thanks!

  • Could you please type out the used material as a reaction to my post?

    Thank in advance!

  • Where are your gloves?! -gasp-

  • I saw several people were asking about prop axes, these guys (Screamline Studios) have great prop weapons.

  • Does the foam take all the details of the casting? like is the top layer smooth and stuff like the normal axe? or do you gotta sand the blade and shit? cause if you cant get detail id probably brush on a layer of smooth-cast on top THEN pour the foam in to save on cost (so its not one huge smooth-cast axe and heavy)

  • Besides weak and crumbly, (can) spray foam will also not skin properly, and is likely to have huge voids. It's really meant to be used as an insulation and nothing else.

  • @scottiblasto I can't speak for Zodiacv1 but spray foam is really brittle and will crumble. I've used it before, its garbage. also Hydrocal is a decent plaster for molding but there are a ton of others that work just fine.
