The Southern Center for Human Rights (SCHR) held its 14th annual Frederick Douglass Awards Dinner in Washington DC on November 18, 2010. There, SCHR presented the 2010 Frederick Douglass Human Rights Award to the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS) for fifty years of unwavering commitment to excellence, for demanding the full measure of justice, and respect for the dignity of every person. Here, PDS Executive Director Avis Buchanan accepts PDS' award.
