This is an old Barrelhouse Blues as it is taught by Malcolm 'Dr. John' Rebennack on one of his New Orleans Piano DVDs.

  • I've have the notes and correct fingers but can't quite get it to groove. It would be nice if I had a repeating vamp that I could play so that I could get the feel without having to play through all the notes. Great playing by the way. I love this tune and I'm determined to get it under my belt!

  • @michelrav Well, the Blues scheme repeats itself also in this piece, so just take the first "verse" as a starting point. Make also sure to get first the left and right hand right seperately.

  • I've been working on this for a bit now without much sucess! Any suggestions?

  • @michelrav Where exactly is your problem? Are you able to get the left hand correctly?

  • can you reshoot it again - gotta see that left hand stretch - and keep your head out of the way !.. great swing..

  • @sammyroy Thanks! Actually I am playing this piece more or less in the same way as Dr. John. You can find the video with a close-up view of his hands here on youtube. Have fun :-)
