  • There is NO need to Bash younger artist in the sake of Bringing up a legend.I love Janet,Tina,Diana,Beyonce,Alicia etc but please shut up with a negativity there is no need for it.Janet did her work now lets enjoy it and watch what it brings forth.Always a hater where there needs not to be any hate.

  • I wouldn't compare Janet to Beyonce, Rihanna, or Alicia. Janet is from a different era. All these ladies are great at what they do and they all had their time to shine and show the world what they're all about.

  • QUEEN OF POP! GO JAN JAN

  • say...does lady of soul still exist? (the award)

  • only janet wins awards like this

  • I was watching this yesterday, and a few hours later heard Heavy D had passed. RIP to a rap legend

but as always Janet looks stunning and delivers an ever so humble speech...

  • I like the What About instrumental to this.

  • Fantastic, Can somebody post the whole show up ?, this 1997 Soul Train Lady Of Soul Awards like THE 4TH ANNUAL LADY OF SOUL AWARDS from tjswann, I would appreciate it. This was Friday September 5th,1997, I did not see this on WGN , I saw it on another channel when it aired live.

  • @RomanRoyale Amen!!!

  • No artist today will receive an honor presented my Mya Angelou. Beyonce, Rihanna, and Niki Minaj are too tacky and raunchy to get an honor like this

  • @faithyrose She wasn't. The only group on stage was the group Brownstone in the beginning, Deborah Cox and Chantay Savage (who sang after her) just joined them onstage for the tribute.
