Why Bracknell?
My Nan lives in Bracknell. During my childhood (early to late 80s) she used to take me round all the lifts. Most of them scared me but may be this is how my interest evolved!?
Today (Sept 2008) I went back round them all to see if they still exist.
Being Bracknell, nothing ever changes. Town centre is dead, 60s/70s buildings. The whole centre is in need of knocking down and modernising!
Not many major brand shops - most have moved away.

Apologies for poor quality. In hindsight I should have taken my Fujifilm camera (movie mode), but all I had with me is my HTC710 phone!

In the distance, a derelict car park! Actually, the basement and ground are still in use by a nearby office, but the rest of it is gated off including the lifts and stairwell.

It was easy to overcome the gates - just jump over the dividing barrier between the parking bays. This took me into an area closed off to the public and completely abandoned!

The lifts and stairwell on the next level were accessable, and what a sight!! Graffiti everywhere, smashed windows, smashed doors, lift doors missing, pigeons, pigeon poo, flies. If someone had jumped out and said "boo", I'd have been out of this place in a shot!! This place gave me the creeps!

On the top level the lift machine room was open. Problem is, there is pigeon poo galore up here, with pigeons living in the motor room.
Now, I thought to myself - I'm probably not going to come back here, so I'll have a quick look in the motor room. The problem is, the ladder was not fixed at the top which lead me to make a quick decision "lets get the hell out of here!!"

I'd love to come back for a better quality movie though!

Anyone else like to take up this challenge!!? This car park is near 'the point' bowling retail park (i've plotted it exactly on the 'map location' section map)

I believe it goes 2,4,6,8,10. Floor 2 is the lowest level the lifts serve, 10 is the roof. The lowest car park level is Gnd, I looked down here but there was just a door, like a cupboard or storage room (maybe the shaft pit?). You can see the floor indicators on the 2nd floor on the original camera footage (mp4 format) direct from my HTC710 (windows mobile 6), but you can't here.

Looks like this has lost some quality. I need some help here, this upload quality is rubbish!

When I looked in there otherday it seems to be occupied by youths but I did see a barred up lift, I did see some car parked in there still.
