Remember Coming Home, where she won the oscar! And yes, how could I forget one of the greatest actresses of the 20th century, Greta Garbo! You're right. She left the movies in her 30's. 35 to be exact, Only Katherine Hepburn played on into her what? 70's or 80's. anyway- nice chatting w/u

@early60srcool Yes, that's it exactly!!!! Bette Davis, Joan Crawford. Clark or Gary??? Not on your life!! In High Noon, Gary Cooper is like 55 or 60, and Grace Kelly is twenty something...But that was ok. Really, I wonder if that's why Greta Gorboe (?) retired when she was 35!!! 35, are you kidding me?

@macarthur261 I know the movie of which you speak. She played Stephanie Powers' mother-in-law. A deranged wicked women, who thinks her daughter-in-law is a floozy, strumpet, cheating tramp and still has conversations with her dead son. And it is a shame that these fine actresses are regulated to playing psychos and such. ie; Bette Davis in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane". And though she played the hell out of it, Can you see Cary or Clark playing some wigged out old Bitch? Not hardly baby!

I love this woman!!! I saw her in "Burn Baby Burn" something like that with Stephanie Powers. It was one of her last movies..I think it was shameful that women stars were treated so shamefully, once they reached 45 or 50...But men actors were paired with 20 something, while they were 60 or older!!
