Filmed at Paradise Bay on the Antarctic Peninsula in front of an Almirante Brown Station, Steven Blumenfeld discusses the importance of the Antarctic Treaty with Polar Explorer Robert Swan O.B.E. (the first man in history to have walked to both the North and South Poles) during the International Antarctic Treaty Expedition in November 2009.
In the lead up to the critical COP-15 Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Steven explains how the Antarctic Treaty can be used as a model for international cooperation in which common goals and objectives are used to build a platform over seemingly irreconcilable issues that may exist below. It is imperative that we focus our energy on the mutual goals of nations and citizens to ensure a sustainable course of action, rather than allowing disputes related to the implementation of those goals to keep us on a course for disaster.
