So because my computer needs to go through extensive repairs, I was unfortunately unable to keep working on "S U R R E A L escape." I could only use my siblings' computer so I was dying from the lack of Vegas, editing, and Vegas. So finally, I downloaded the program on the computer where I happen to store all my other anime clips and it was during the time that it was downloading that I received and watched "5 centimeters per second," a movie I had known about since Koopiskeva's "Momentum" came out. Since I had already known Makoto Shinkai's works were amazing, I knew that this movie would also be good, but I actually thought it was about average after seeing it. It was when I watched Shinkai's interview and he explained that the movie was really about speed that it clicked into place and the movie became, in a sense, perfect for me.

So of course, I had to edit to it, and I quickly decided on a Coldplay song I had never really heard used before that was perfect for the entire movie. I was not sure how to make something original considering that the story is not one you can alter that much. So I decided that I would take the one character I really liked and show it through her point of view, which I haven't seen done in the multitude of "5 cm" vids. So it became Akari's story of motion, and the way she gets over her past's regrets to go on fully living her life. I cut the song and edited the video in about a day. It took another day to polish and overall fix it up but I think that because of the inspiration I did justice to the character and to a different aspect of the story many people overlook. Even though it's a cut song, very easy to edit footage, and only a day of work, hopefully I've improved from my previous Vegas video.

Also, thanks go to the sweethearts at MS for their perpetual beta testing and Sephirothishere for his very helpful advice!
