Finally got my shutter release timer from Hong Kong. Works great! Hooked it up to my Canon EOS 300D SLR (very old now) and experimented with various settings.

To ensure a perfectly constant shutter speed and reasonably consistent exposure, I used shutter priority mode on the camera, and let the camera calculate the aperture for each frame. This causes slight flicker when something bright enters/leaves the middle of the frame, but works much better to keep the overall brightness consistent as the natural light fades at dusk.

Scene 1: Kawasaki container terminal from Shibuara, with Haneda Airport visible on horizon
Shutter: 3s
Aperture: auto
Interval: 7s

Scene 2: Rainbow Bridge
Shutter: 10s
Aperture: auto
Interval: 15s

Scene 3: Shuto #1 Haneda Line freeway through Konan
Shutter: 10s
Aperture: auto
Interval: 15s
