The fruit platter is a beautiful alternative to plain old fruit salad! The knife work is a little more intracate but it is not much more labor. This fruit platter was thrown together for about 20 dollars ( I got a good deal on the fruit) and completed in less than an hour in my mom's kitchen. You don't need too much room, just a table or two, a sink, a nice sized cutting board, a few hotel pans or cookie sheets and of course a platter or large plate. Glass or plastic both work fine.
