editing red footage in final cut pro

Here's my first tutorial.
In this one we are going to learn how to take our 4K R3D files and size them down to 2K for editing in final cut pro using REDrushes.

I'm still learning this process myself. the only reason I posted this is because i couldn't find any other video tutorials on red footage and final cut pro.

I am about to edit a project that was shot with a RED camera and the shooter is doing the transcode to ProRes 422. Do I need to worry about anything in the edit, or anything I should be aware of? I asked the director to give me a few test files to make sure everything is OK before the edit begins, no nasty surprises as it were. I am using an iMac 3.06 Ghz Core 2 Duo w 4 GB of ram and have edited ProRes with no problems in the past.

How much does a RED camera cost? Isn´t it something like 25.000 for the body and up to 46.000$ for the lens? Do you work for some film studio, or is this your hobby?
