Speed Drawing: Soul Eater's 'Death the Kid'

I saw the character Death the Kid from Soul Eater yesterday and liked his look, so I decided to try my hand at drawing him (ohoho, prepare for failure). It took 32 minutes total, was done in Photoshop Elements 4 (yeah son, old-school!) and captured with Camtasia Studio 6. I'll be doing more speed-drawings soon, so keep an eye out—or subscribe if you're awesome. Enjoy!

can i ask for a stupid thing? how does a total newbie like me learn photoshop? i cannot afford a course due to very small time i got, but i really want to learn everything about photoshop.

@TetsuwaShuujin Hey, no worries--I'm totally self-taught in Photoshop. You really don't need a course to learn. I figured it out totally by trial and error so it took me quite a while, but there are plenty of great tutorials online that I wish I'd known about! Google 'Adobe Design Center' for official Adobe tutorials. They're really good. :) Good luck learning!! Just practice and have patience.

What type of brush did u use? what about the # of size of the brush? by the way 5/5

@CaliopeCalia I used the basic Photoshop round brush at 100% hardness, and the size I used varied. I think I used 4 pt for the lineart. If you want to see the size of brush I'm using at any given time you can pause and you should see the # toward the top. :) Thank you!

For ur first time, you did really well :D the first time I drew Kid, it turned out like crap -_-' the only way you could tell who it was supposed to be was the three white lines in his hair xD
