There are definitely less guys around like Carl and all the old session guys (Dan Huff, Tedesco, Campbell, etc.). It's sad, too because most kids today think that if it isn't shred it isn't good guitar playing. Anyone can play fast if they put in the practice time. However, becoming a well rounded guitarist and being able to play what FITS a song is far more important and difficult to master. Maybe someone will come along and change that like Brent Mason did in the 90s for country music.

bits like 1.23 always add that sparkle to the tune for me,

CARL is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard, it really makes me feel like the last 20 years have been a total waste of time like -:(

Some nice playin', very plinky guitar tone. Especially on the high E, it just slices and is thin. I don't know about this arrangement. Man, it's Little Wing, but it sounds like he turned it into more of an elevatore version. He castrated it.

wow i cant even digest all of that sooo goood
What color is that Strat? It's probably because of the lighting, but it looks like a mix of Lake Placid Blue, Sonic Blue, and Surf Green. And the sound is exactly what a Strat should be...I'd love to get the specs on that badboy.
Carl rocks!

It's a 1961 Daphne Blue Strat. To get the whole story on how Carl got the guitar, go to the Pasadena Guitars website and check out The One That Got Away.
