@Ropstopmusic not true
-
1988 cars had turbos not n/a v10's :(
-
@Ropstopmusic 650 bhp, not 1200 bhp.
-
Senna was the best machine created by GOD. Simply the best 4 ever.
-
@Mattypoppins You are bullshitting aswell. This car probably had a max of 1050HP in qualifying. In the race it was 900HP. 680Hp is fucking ridiculously low for a car of 1988. Twat.
-
@Ropstopmusic Juan Manuel Fangio ran with a leather helmet and gear lever in between the legs and no seat belts. acknowledge that senna is a phenomenon like Fangio.
-
Never understood why it was stated that this is footage from 1988 when its from '89 or 90. Any F1 fan knows this is a normally aspirated V-10 and not the V-8. The N.A. has this higher pitched *WHINE* while the turbo has a deep-throated *HOWL*.
-
@Mattypoppins Agreed. The ridiculous high power rates were not the case anymore in 1988.
-
The sound is not out of sync, it's plain wrong. That is V10 normally aspirated, not V6 turbo. One of the reasons why this movie, despite all the hype, actually isn't that great.
-
@Ropstopmusic 1200hp? Erm no, not in 1988 and certainly no car in a race has ever had that much power.
I agree with your point though, the drivers of the 80s had massive balls.
1200hp. Manual gears. Inches from Armco. Steering with one hand in a car with next to no safety features. Fucking unbelievable. The best of the best.

"That car had 1200bhp in qualification and 680bhp in race."
What nonsense - SAE paper 890877 says "504kW MAXIMUM POWER" which is about 680hp or so. The oft quoted 1200bhp is a load of crap for the 1988 car. Maybe in 1986 with unlimited boost, but definitely not in 1988.
