@shadoofbaby2009 I have caught many trout in streams, lakes ponds and rivers, and I would have to say that they are more fun to catch because of a harder fight. dont get me wrong... I love bass fishing, infact im going tomorrow, but I really wish I didnt live in houston, but rather somewere like south dakota so I could catch trout, but an opinion is an opinion i guess.

youre not getting me: due to its extremely thin diameter, less than 30 lb braid will dig into itself, making your casts horrible and not letting the drag work properly. Alot of the fight of a trout can be the current of the river, if they are caught in a river: trout caught in lake fight pretty poorly in my opinion. If you want a hard fighting fish, go catch some tuna or a big grouper. not a trout.

@shadoofbaby2009 The hell they dont fight hard, Ive cought many big bass before out of that lake, and others, and a 3 lb rainbow trout fights stronger than an 8 lb largemouth. and you dont need 30 lb test... you just have to play them right.

Its braid. 30 lb is the MINIMUM to use on baitcasters before it starts digging in. And trout dont fight that hard.

by any chance did you sell that boat?

Bass on Conroe have nomadic nature, however this time of year you can locate good quality fish around bridge riprap, and the top of creek bends in depths of 7' -10'.
Try the riprap around the 105 and 1375 areas
Good Luck
