It's not uncommon for one's shins to hurt after rope jumping, but there are a lot of factors to consider. These include the surface you're jumping on, your shoes, the duration of your jumping session, and your technique. Ice might help to reduce the inflammation and you should consider doing toe raises and heel walking to strengthen the muscles in your shins. We have a rope jumping DVD coming out soon that you might find useful.

Is it okay to jump barefoot,does it hurt your landing more after each jump?

@SoefTR9
Hi! It really depends on your jumping and landing mechanics and the surface you're jumping on. If you jump well, land well, have no injuries, and are on a somewhat forgiving surface you should be fine! By the way, our rope jumping instructional DVD will be out by April (punkrope(dot)com)
