i know that bobb babbit was responsible for this perfect piece off bassplaying but ive found an oldie but goodie video with another bassplayer on the exact same track so could you please tell me who this is i dont think he is some kind of stand-in....or body double(would be kinda strange cos bobb babbit doesnt hav a coloured skin...:))...anyway...maybe this could be James Jamerson who was also a Funk Brothers member, cos according to some pics ive found this could be the guy....but also seeing him play(ok this isnt a live recording track)but he sure does a good playbacking on his bassguitar....so maybe u could help me out....btw i wish i could do some bassplaying like you do ...hey....maybe you are the missing link in this story....

  • In that region of your life when one is both young but old enough to be wise , cresting with the surging wave , that perfect place where love & realism meet & mingle with empathy & compassion...and we become immortals for a time at the peak of our powers .

  • My favorite song by Robert Palmer. Amazing how talented he was from his boogie woogie fatback days with Little Feat's players on "Sneaking Sally Through The Alley", his sizzling power pop rock with Power Station who rocked when I saw them in concert!), his sophisticated crooner of MTV 80's pop, & this stunning cover of Free's Andy Fraser's inspired World Music anthem of peace, love & brotherhood, infused with his inimitable blue eyed soul. So sad he left us so young. What a gifted souful stylist

  • Oops, didn't realize how much current adulation is here, which is a good thing. Someone said Curtis Mayfield...anyone for just be thankful, which is actually a William Edward DeVaughan Jr. joint? The video for that has been clipped here and there...keep it goin'!!!!

  • Hey treadlightlynow, you said it better than I ever coulda! "There's no profit in deceit." Hey You tube fans, keep the comments going. For better or worse, this is where old rock and roll songs go to get worshipped by us!!!! Write on. Matty B. Baltimore When I check back in a few weeks I wanna see someone else lovin' Robert Palmer! Look for me at Boz Scaggs videos, and he's very alive!!!! And EVERY rocker - post your thoughts!!!!!
