WHEN THEY RING THOSE GOLDEN BELLS
(Archie Campbell - Dion DeMarbelle)
« © '56 Fort Knox Music, BMI / Trio Music, BMI »

There's a land beyond the river that we call the sweet forever
And we only reach that shore by fate you see
Yes I want to see my Jesus shake his hand and hear him greet us
When they ring those golden bells for you and me

Don't you hear the bells a ringing can't you hear the angels singing
This glory hallelujah jubilee
In that far off sweet forever just beyond the shining river
When they ring those golden bells for you and me
[ ac.guitar + banjo ]
When our days have known the number when in death we'll sweetly slumber
When the king commands the spirit to be free
There'll be no more stormy weather we'll live peacefully together
When they ring those golden bells for you and me

Don't you hear the bells a ringing...

  • THIS IS SO PRETTY ...JUST LIKE LORETTA....BEAUTIFULLL SONG AND SING....I LOVE IT

  • I USE TO LISTEN TO THIS WHEN I WAS YOUNG. AND THOUGH I DONT HEAAR IT OFTEN, I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE WORDS!

  • This was the song that the late, great Jim Dickinson asked his fellow Yalobushwacker (Thacker Mountain Radio show) bandmate, Duff Dorrough, to sing at his funeral at the Zebra Ranch in Mississippi in August of 2009. Such a sad beautiful song, and Loretta's voice here is heaven.

  • she looks like dottie rambo in this video.

  • What a beautiful tender woman. Love her to death.

  • Mama's song......

  • I saw her live at the Opry back in 1983. They don't make 'em like her anymore.

  • I love Loretta verry good song love it

    gretings M-louise

  • loretta and emmy lou =deadheat lucky to have these two amazing singers

  • I first met the great LORETTA LYNN in 1971 while performing in Philadelphia, and she was wearing this dress. She came out of her dressing room back stage and signed a LP that I bought there. I was eleven years old then she gave me a hug and a kiss. I'll never forget that evening. Then I met her years later and she remembered that event. This time I posed for a pic and the following year she signed it. What a wonderful lady!!
