  • what tobacco would you recomend for a new pipe smoker what i can buy from any shop in the uk i do smoke rolling tobacco

  • @purebreedbiker This isn't an easy one as the readily available ones like St.Bruno and Condor have a noticable floral flavouring added to them which you might like or hate. Clan & mellow virginia aren't worth bothering with as they're not very good. I'd recommend Crlik Golden Sliced which can be got from most online tobacconists. It is a flake but all you need do it rub it between your palms to get the "shaggyness" you prefer. One thing to remember; puff slowly not like a train!

  • Can you use the pipe without the filter ?

  • @ChurchillCigar sorry about the late reply - Yes but the draw is very open.

  • where do you get yours from

  • @bitterrider37 My local tobacconist has the legends but i order the others direct from the MM factory at corn cob pipes dot com.

  • Well done! I like the "swanky" Country Gentleman too. I agree with your assessment that a cob smokes just as well as an expensive briar.

  • I throw the filter away and replace it with a piece of 6mm tubing with a 3mm inside diameter.

  • I remember when I was very young (five or six) when my dad would go to the drug store to get cigars, and every time I went he would let me pick out a corncob pipe and he would get it for me. I thought they were the coolest things even though I didn't fully understand. A wonderful memory:)

  • Nevermind my question, I finished watching and seen you have a legend similar to mine, I guess it all comes to what's produced at any time.

  • Good video. I have a question, why are your legend's bowls fatter toward the top? Mine are a uniform shape from top to bottom. Do they not all have the same shape?

  • I am a big fan of MM corn cobs. Due to circumstance, my first Legend was smoked three or more times daily for almost six months. It is still in good shape.

All of my cobs are great smokers although my Patriot tends to burn a bit hot. So far, the Diplomat is my favourite but I don't have a Country Gentleman yet. That will be my next order.

Personally I toss out the filtres before the first lighting.

I think the shank is birch, not pine. Pine has a very strong smell and taste when it burns
