Full Closure of the Rhine River Winter 1978
E Company (Echo Hard - River Rats) 12th Battalion, 8th Infantry Division (Mechanized)
Using Mobile Assault Bridges
Operation also included elements of the 130th Engineer Brigade.

  • I was present in 1976 when they sunk there boats ferrying an M60 tank over the Rhine

  • I WAS THERE FROM 1975-1978 WITH THE RIVER RATS.I HELPED SET UP COMMUNICATIONS ON THE MABS (THIS ARE THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE PART OF A BRIDGE ON TOP. THEN  WHEN THEY TURN THEM THEY CONNECT TO EACH OTHER AND FORM A BRIDGE)

  • Hey TheManuelMata I was in Charlie Co and went to Trier in Oct. 77 for French Comando School. I was the acting Platoon Sgt. We won the Battalion competition for Engineer Task and commom Tasks. As you remember, no one failed. Take care Brother Mick
