Coming from Wales i'm very touched by so many warm and complimentary comments about her- sincere and likeable, no histrionics, rich and beautiful voice, and like others here i think her Vorrei spiegarvi (especially) is tremendous. She's not had the wider acclaim and attention she deserves even in Wales, while Katherine Jenkins sells millions. Says something about our society these days. But anyway, thanks very much for the video, Onegin65.

Derrière cette voix, qui est sans doute l'une des plus belles qui soit, et l'intégrité d'une telle artiste qui ignore la tricherie, j' ai toujours entendu une fêlure intime qui ne m'a été révélée que récemment: ses opérations aux jambes, son frère malade duquel elle ne voulait trop s'éloigner... Transformer les écueils de la vie en la somptuosité d'un don... Je dois à cette Dame, ma Comtesse de Garnier, ma passion de l'opéra.

@mizofan Have a degree in music, and trained in singing for over 12 years. I can honestly say that Margaret Price was one of the best sorpanos in the last 100 years, 1st rated. It really didn't matter where she was from. A great voice is a great voice regardless race, nationality. Hers was so rich, effortless, and noble. So much honesty from her singing. Only people with great taste can appreciate a voice like hers. It hurts to know that she just passed away in Jan 2011. Miss her!

Assurément un des plus beaux timbres de voix qui se pût concevoir, à placer aux côtés de Mirella Freni, Magda Olivero ou la jeune Tomowa-Sintow, associé à une très belle technique et une musicalité sans fautes de goût. Une carrière dont la diffusion a sans doute été amoindrie par l'accumulation des kilos peu compatible avec les exigences théâtrales modernes.

Her voice was perfect, not only for Mozart but for Verdi, Puccini, Strauss, Etc. She was amazing and with a beautiful big voice and her technique was perfect.
