The Challenge: Always wanted to fly, zap your enemies with lightning, or own an invisibility cloak? Now's your chance to apply your design and engineering skills to achieve your dreams. TEI is delighted to announce its first student design challenge, which will focus on superhero costumes and accessories.
Judging based on inventiveness, quality of execution, presentation and style.
For our project, we created a super-villain who we call Morphess, and her power is deception and the ability to mesmerize. Basically, our idea was that when you see her walking down the street, you might just assume she's a regular girl. But when your guard is down, that's when she reveals her true, evil self. We imagined that her dramatic transformation would be similar to Medusa's powers--when she changes from unassuming civilian to super-villain, passersby can't help but be dazzled by her, and they become unable to avert their eyes. With their undivided attention and complete adoration, she can manipulate them to contribute to her evil deeds.
Music: Il Dolce Suono (music by Gaetano Donazetti, singing by Inva Mula), O Fortuna
