  • For 15bill maybe they should develop something that can take passengers into orbit.

  • @ContreJours Where did I say Boeing was never subsidized? The WTO found $5.3B. But EADS got $18B. Boeing's illegal subsidies has stopped, but not EADS.

As for the tanker EADS won because the Air Force screwed up, not because the EADS offering was superior. The GAO found 7 major errors in awarding it to EADS so it was rescinded and a new competition started. Boeing won it by virtue of having lower lifecycle and acquisition costs.

At least *try* to get your facts straight.

  • @frylucas Also, Boeing A/C last longer than comparable AB A/C's. It is uncommon to see a 20+ year old AB, but there are lots of Boeings that old and even older. AB is simply not as durable as a Boeing. When you can amortize the acquisition cost over a longer period of time you cut your total lifecycle cost.

I don't know what the A350 will bring, but if history holds then it will be cheaper with a shorter life and less efficient than the 787. That's why I say Boeings are better.

  • @frylucas Historically, Boeing A/C have been more fuel efficient than AB (737 vs. A320, A340 vs.777, 747 vs A380, etc.), but cost more to acquire. AB has the unfair advantage of massive government subsidies (much much larger than what Boeing got from the US gov - 20B vs 5B) which allow them to undercut Boeing on price. Each plane performs about the same, so it comes down to acquisition cost and operating efficiency. It costs more to buy a Boeing but it's cheaper to operate.

  • @zapster53 This Doens't Exist,it's like this ''a Viper is better because is a Viper''',this is ridiculous,a Plane is better by The performance,Price and Economy, the A350 have a PERFECT plataform for a Modern Days Aircraft,so if you prefer the 787,i'm Prefer the A350,i'm Airbus fan,and if you post a Comment cussing me,i'm will not awser, because i have more important things to Do,and i,at least respect people, and also please give a better explication why this thing is better that that thing

  • Because you believe that Boeing is not subsidized by the US governement ? The NASA conducted research for Boeing with U.S. taxpayer money, they have been condemned by the WTO, they are like Airbus. EADS was originally selected by the U.S. military because their tankers was better, but obviously the whiners Boeing used their trump card: economic patriotism, the only way for them to sell their crappy tanker ...

  • the boeing 787 is gona win!!!

  • @aromchuen The B787 is a better airplane because it's a Boeing. EADS has always sold inferior products. That's why EADS has to compete the only way it can - by using illegal funding to undercut Boeing on price.

  • Looks like more illegal funding for EADS coming! They can't compete on an even playing field with their own money so they cheat.
