@attentiondetention if you want to watch a movie on your ipad, you're going to need to add an .mp4 or .m4v or any of the supported video formats to your itunes library. then you can sync it onto your ipad. or, you can purchase a movie off of itunes!

That is basically a true statement. They are really both small computers. The differentiator is the form factor. The portability of a smartphone with the viewable screen size of a laptop is what sets the iPad appart.
