Busch Gardens Tampa is celebrating an anniversary for a very special relationship. April 16 marked the one-year anniversary of the first time park guests got to see an 8-week-old male cheetah cub and a 16-week-old female yellow labrador puppy start to strike up a friendship that the park's animal experts expect to last a lifetime.
The pair -- later named Kasi and Mtani -- spent only supervised play times together at first. Now, a year later, they live together full time at the park's Cheetah Run habitat and even travel together to schools, events and television studios, helping the park's education team teach the public about the plight of cheetahs in the wild and the importance of Busch Gardens' conservation efforts.

Cheetah's are by far the most docile of the big cats, and by far the most tameable. This would be much more difficult if it where a tiger (the least tameable), a leapord or a lion. But cheetah's, although wild animals who hunt of course, are more similar to the cats humans keep, although still very different.

By the way I got what you are saying. But reality is even humans are in danger because of humans. So in no way I can except some people who cheetahs in the zoo thinking of saving them. Do a research (add all the cheetahs or big cats in the zoos of the world and the ones as pets in cages) then find out what the jungle is really missing !

Ok, but i'll be more happy if some cubs are saved on the spot. Someone has to go on a mission in jungles. I'll volunteer to be the first one.To save the cheetah cubs in the wild. Well I got your point, but in no way a cheetah cub will go to a jungle and hunt. Because of the lack of training and experience. The cheetahs are just lacking experience and saving them is useless,if they don't do what they are best at. Every creature has weak and strong points, including cheetahs.

Mad ideas are how the world progresses. Its something that our society has gotten away from as we seem to take shorter more safe ideas. Look up "Wright Brothers". Im sure at the time that was a ludicrous idea. This isnt the same thing but it was a cool experiment for someones research and now there are two happy animals. People could learn a lot from this actually.

I think it's mostly because they don't see each other as different species. Sort of like how a lot of dogs treat the people they grow up around as part of their "pack". You know your dog wont attack you, and it treats you like a family member.
