  • Mark Ripptoe explains that the Deadlift also have the COG in line of the midle of the feet. He said the bar has to touch the shins . So this is over the midle of the feet

  • @Manuelcr7 yea, that sounds perfect...

  • Great video Elliot! In this video, you stated that the trap bar deadlift isn't really a deadlift. Since this is the case, is it even a good idea to do a trap bar deadlift as a replacement for the barbell deadlift? Is an individual missing out on any advantages that the barbell deadlift provides by solely trap bar deadlifting? DeFranco states that it still strengthens the lower back much like a barbell deadlift, but "places much less stress on the spine." Is he correct in his assessment?

  • @checkhookko no, it really isn't a dead lift, but it is a cool lift non-the-less... and you will get stronger by using it.

  • Prof. Elliott, you're BRILLIANT!

  • @sfayadin my 1st - 12th grade teachers would probably disagree. lol

  • deadlifts are one of my favorite too!

  • great video man, working on physiology in school this is great. Im gonna start deadlifts ASAP

  • @jgfergus Thats not true, that just a hoax.

  • @strengthcamp

Einstein was lousy at school too. I think he was kicked out of grade 10.

  • best squat ass to grass!

  • im startin deadlifts tonight

  • brilliant stuff!

  • @GrandMasterJuan i have the same thing , i think its the muscles in your back being worked , i dunno though im only a newbie myself

  • What the hell is he looking at?

  • I can dead 550lbs and this video was very very informative. Thanks a lot!

  • my back usually feels sore RIGHT after doing deadlifts, is this normal?

after i move on to the other exercises it goes away.

i dont have any lower back pain though.

  • damn, i have been squatting the wrong way.... freaking high school coaches, they said i was doing it wrong, and i listened to them.

  • i love watching these and understanding all the words he throws at us xD feelin sweet

  • Holy shit you're really good with your anatomy. I just had anatomy last semester all these terms you're busting out are really coming back to me lol.

  • @StegoKing

    >says a professional strongman doesn't lift a lot of weight

  • seriously?

  • Weak sauce.

  • @StegoKing You're dumb as fuck. He's pulled over 650lbs. Idiot.

  • this dude is strong

  • StegoKing. He probably deadlifts 20% more than you.

  • I'm guessing this guy doesn't lift a lot of weight.

  • @Manuelcr7 You are correct. Who deadlifts with the bar in front of their toes? Nobody that's moving a heavy weight. The COG for the DL is the same as it is for the squat; this guy's entire analysis starts off wrong.

  • Back problems run in my family, i want to start dead lifting but i'm afraid i'll screw up my back. My dad who is an ex body builder has a serious back problem called "aklylosing spondilitis" that he got from over working his back. This disorder is also genetic, do you think dead lift will increase my chances of throwing my back out like my dad? Also, is it normal to have a bit of lower back pain after doing this exercise?

  • shit... It's been a while now since I've been looking for complete information on the web about the dead lift, but this guy fuckin overdid it lol
