Alton Towers Past BlackHole Lights On

This is a video taken on the last day of the BlackHole ride in operation. The ride was closed in 2005 in Alton Towers's X-Sector which was a fast and turbulent Dark Spiral Rollercoater In space.

The ride was closed due to H&S issues with the lift stairs and evacuation procedures and the ride was getting old and hard to maintain.

IMPORTANT: Please get this right. No one EVER Died on the Black Hole and this is not why it was closed down.
You may be mistaken with "Space Invader" and BlackPool pleasure beach a similar indoor space rollercoaster where a young Child un-did their seat belt and stood up during ride which decapitated them. This was NOT The BlackHole at Alton Towers.
So Please stop with the comments saying it closed because some one was killed. No one was ever killed or badly injured on this Ride.

This ride looks like so much fun it's a shame

I never got to go on it but the place that it was in isn't used for a ride now so they should bring it back no ride gets old and hard to maintain not

even this one re open it Alton towers for our sake!

i hate the fact that the tent was used in the scarefest this year! Although the boilder house theme fit, it should not have been tampered with!!

When I rode this, it was in complete darkness. Having those lights on would rather spoil the effect, I'd imagine.

This used to be my favourite ride in the 80's till they closed it, was gutted lol can anyone remember the beast it was the same as this but not in the dark?

i agree it is not the best themeing, but ive never been to thorpe park so i don't know

I went on it in the 80's 3 times in a row at the end of the day when it was quiet. Fantastic experience. All you could see was the dangling spaceman in the middle of the ride who started out above you until you spiralled up above him. No other lights on that I could see... at the top and alien head lit up and told you to 'hold tight'. Then you wizzed down and around in near total blackness not knowing which way you would go next. Brilliant.

Space mountain in Magic kingdom (Orlando florida) was one of the best most fun rides i ever went on. Was it the fastest no, the highest no, but its so much fun.

Themeing is also top notch. Sadly alton towers themeing sucks balls, its true dont try and defend it.
