  • Don't know if you guys are into aromatics at all but Hearth & Home's "Trout Stream" is a good one...no bite, good flavor throughout the bowl. Also, thanks for the explanation about the fingernails....I was wondering about that, if you were a werewolf at night or something.... :) Love your vids. Keep 'em comin'

  • @Charredbriar Thanks sir! We've been on a hiatus but have some more vids coming. I've heard good things about Trout Stream, and plan on trying more of Russ Ouelette's blends.

  • In your H&H foray, if you haven't already you might want to sample Louisiana Red (another VaPer, as one can tell just by the name) and the AJ VaPer. Note that Anni Kake is a limited stock that is probably exhausted already. Check with pipesandcigars if they're still offering any of these.

  • @PIPEBITE Aack! I hope Anniversary Kake doesn't run dry - it'd be nice to jar up some of this stuff to see how it ages. Plus, I hope everyone else gets to try it, since it's a fantastic VaPer.

  • Hooray for being 'unashamedly nerdy' about the blends we smoke! For me it is part of the fun and it means that you end up smoking only good stuff. Keep 'em coming gents.

  • @PipesterJim Exactly our point! Life's short so you might as well get the most out of it---why not do the research and smoke only the best blends?

  • Did you have trouble drying this blend out? I've let it air out for two days and I think its gained moisture! I've never seen a blend this moist, and I'm really anxious to light some up.

Rolando's own is good, fairly light as well. Not the sweetest, or spiciest, or strongest, but its my go to in the morning.

  • I agree with a LOVE for anniversary kake. It needs a bit more attention but I'm also loving the Classic Burley Kake they have for a great price.

If you like Latakia I do enjoy Larry's Blend, and Strike Force (Larry's Blend + Cigar Leaf), they are a delight with strong coffee.

I'm doing some research with their Butternut Burley, I seem to only enjoy every other pipe I smoke of that blend.

  • @Robertdieri There's a great vid of PipesterJim smoking that stuff. He raves about it so naturally we're intrigued! He's never led us in the wrong direction before so we'll be picking up some in the near future.

  • Great vids. A fellow tobacco nerd here. For Escudo fans, i'd strongly recommend Bull's Eye by Orlik if you haven't already tried it. It's a curly cut VaPer with a cavendish centre and is a great smoke.
