As a proud republican I say to Obama-"I dare you to let America default". The only way for American's to know how much damage the liberal agenda has done is to crash the ecomomy. There will be no hiding then.

If Cut, Cap and Balance would grow the economy, why was it not passed when Republicans controlled the federal govt from Jan 2001 to Jan 2007? Why was there no interest in a balance budget amendment during that time? It's only when Republicans control the house and a Democrat is in the White House that they propose a balance budget amendment. Last one was 1995 which almost passed the senate. Then Bush took over and doubled the national debt.

@pholland Repealing the 16th Amendment wouldn't eliminate Congress' power to impose an income tax. The Supreme Court confirmed this point in a series of cases, including Brushaber v. Union Pacific Railroad (1915), Stanton v. Baltic Mining Company (1916), and Eisner v. Macomber (1920). In these cases, the Court ruled that the 16th Amendment granted Congress no new power to tax.

@mrgravyx Which is why the 16th Amendment should be repealed immediately just like Prohibition, because it fundamentally violates the laws of nature to say some third-party can automatically confiscate the fruits of one's labor before he even sees it. I am not too concerned about this debate though because I know the Democrats will ultimately lose. The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money, and after 70 years we are finally seeing the system unravel.
