  • Use the purest, affordable water available to you. There is a great article on the Audiogon forums about water and storage. The author, Justin Time, did great research and it fell perfectly in line with what I had read previously. I've never seen any melting and I've steamed many colored records. I have noticed black splotches on new white records that was probably residual vinyl from previous pressings. Steaming is widely held as the best method. I use the high quality Shark steamer.

  • wheres the part 3 when YOU show the results??? :( and why you dont buy the MOFI sleeves? Mobile Fidelity - MFSL INNER SLEEVES (PKG 50) is better than the cheap from sleeve town?

  • Awesome video man. Didn't feel like almost 20 minutes. Thanks.

  • God damn it, every single retailer no longer has that Shark Super Steamer in stock anymore.. must be discontinued or something, bummer

  • love the vids, the $2 bottle, what is it and where did you get it? Thanks!

  • Have you ever had a problem with warping from the steam? The first time I tried a steaming method I ended up permanently warping the album I was cleaning, and although it only happened once I am still a bit hesitant. Thoughts?

  • i found that when using a steamer because of such heat it burns the plastic of the actual steamer which leaches on to the vinyl in tiny pieces, i noticed that after trying to clean a white color limited record, it is not noticeable on a black record so i would stay away from doing that. Also the best plastic is #1 (not #7) as it used in most water bottles to drink from. and ive been using distilled water to rinse the recrd after cleaning as it has 0 mineral content.

  • Nice work! Clean records sound way better. And they will do so longer. I hope you are only cleaning this LP on the floor for the video. Even the cleanest floors have dust, fibres, pet hair, etc. that will snap right back on that clean record before you have a chance to get up and play it, un-doing your efforts.
