It seems most people prefer the 1993 Suns/Bulls final to the 1997 one, but I have to respectfully disagree. The 1997 classic between the Jazz and the Bulls was full of high drama. You had Michael Jordan's game-winner in Game 1, John Stockton's steal and pass in Game 4, the flu game in Game 5 and Steve Kerr's shot in Game 6. You had the league's MVP playing against the game's greatest player. You had close games. You had two teams that would never again be as good. They did meet again in 1998, but that wasn't nearly as much of a series.

This is Game 6, and oops, I kind of gave away the ending. Enjoy.

  • You're damn right, but the sports writers who are allowed to vote on the NBA MVP always use winning your division as a criteria and Utah finally did overcome Houston with Malone showing a statistical improvement in most major categories. Im a Jordan fanatic so I wasn't so happy about him not gettin his 5th MVP to match the Finals MVP, but that's how these guys calculate value? MJ was obviously the MVP!

The KOBE comparisons?Jordan NEVER lost a NBAchampionship, never went ICE cold in the Finals

  • Jordan and Malone both starting with bad shooting from the field, but MJ is hitting the free throws. Whos the real MVP?!

  • @MakaveliToussaint Actually MJ had 2 terrible shooting nights vs Seattle in '96 in Game 4 (23 pts, 6 of 19, 31% shooting, 0-2 from 3—also 4 turnovers and just 2 assists) and Game 6 (22 pts, 5 of 19, 26% FG%, 1-3 3PT) and also Game 6 in '98 when he went 9-26, which is 34%.

    "Never" is a bit of an exaggeration, but I ran the numbers, and MJ's FG% for each Finals: for '91: 57% (!!!), for '92: 53%, for '93: 51%, for '96: 40%, for '97: 45%, for '98: 42% - average for Finals: 48%.

    MJ way fucking > Kobe

  • Looks like Byron Russells shot clock violation came back to haunt the Jazz when Eisley suffered the opposite fate.

Yeah Kobe went ice in game 5 and if you watch the after game interview he said to espn analyst (stu scott i think) I dont know how we won that game. Also, Jordan NEVER went ice in the finals and Kobe got shut completely down in 2004, and Chauncey won the MVP. So yeah JohnnyFive, Kobe went ice twice and Jordan never did.

    Get your facts right
