Perhaps I'll change around some of the words later. Some lines sound a bit awkward.
You know I know your changin ways
And how you need to be free
But you know Id like to be your woman
Whether or not you love me
And ya know Id forever wait for you
To leave me without a word of farewell
Just leave me with some memories
You know Id never follow you down
Where you dont want to me to be
And you know Id like to be your woman
Whether or not you love me
And you know Id forever wait for you
To kiss my forehead before I wake
And leave with just your banjo and suitcase
All my friends would think me crazy
And Id have to agree
But you know Id like to be your woman
Whether or not you love me
Oh, you know Id forever wait for you
To break my poor achin heart
Write a song about it, never look back
I must sound like a sick, sad girl
But its really simple, youll see
Id just like to be your woman
Whether or not you love me
This is beautiful.

Great song, just don't live it, or not for too long anyway. Solid, original lines, and great voice as usual.
All my friends would think me crazy: re your comment about some lines, you could drop the "All" here and it will mean the same but go easier. (Not that I mean to tell a writer how to pen her words).
Well done. Happened onto your songs by a stepping stone from covers of Dylan, then got to listening to more and now your originals. You not only sing well, but are fine with the pen.

Wow, I love this song. What a great hook! Perhaps it could be improved by polishing some of the lyrics, but the raw emotion of this version gets ahold of me. Being a little rough around the edges adds to the honesty in folk music sometimes. Sign me up! I am officially a fan!

Love it. Sad tune though. The title/line has the same sting as the line, "Never gonna know ya now but I'm gonna love ya anyhow" in Elliott Smith's Waltz #2

This is a wonderful original song Lindsay. I do agree though it still needs a little tweeking. Your voice is lovely as is your guitar work. Thanks for doing a cover of "sand and foam" i really enjoyed that, one of my fav Donovan tunes....Kathy @ The Songwriters Collection Channel
