  • I love New York always have always will, but I wish I had a time machine and could go back to N.Y.C. circa 1920s-1930s and see things like the original art deco Penn Station,

Coney Island when it was at its heights and the original Times Square when it was truly something to behold in that era.

  • Living in NY and hearing this makes me laugh. Its a love hate relationship and when i hear this song i am proud to be here. But when it is over, i realize how much it royally blows here and cannot wait to get out! LOL

Hey thanks for replying! I'm glad i finally know =). Btw lucky you who got to see it in real life =(

  • @marvelfannumber1 The station was dingy grey ('pink' granite and Travertine marble that hadn't been cleaned in decades) on the outside and basically grey and brown on the inside. The floors were concrete tiles with glass brick embedded. Actually these floors still exist as part of the station, though they have been covered over. The signage was red and gold of the Pennsylvania RR. The stair railings were brass, and many still exist.

So you remember penn station can you tell what its colors where if you remember? Since i cant find any pictures or movies with it in color.

  • OMG is beautiful, most magic city. I wish live there :(

  • @krypton549 Except that this arrangement of Gershwin's Rhapsody is the work of Ferde Grofe'. It is the best known version and the one that put the piece (and Gershwin) on the map.
